The Post family lost the property during a 1930s bankruptcy but repurchased it and retained the home until 1991 when it was sold to Juanita Reger, who planned to use the property as a bed-and-breakfast inn. It is a 2 1/2 story, brick dwelling with a three story stone tower. Though originally built as a brick Italianate home in the 1860s, William Post purchased the property in 1891 and began Neoclassical Revival renovations under the direction of architect Draper Hughes. Over 100 awards set Utah.gov as one of the best government sites in the nation. Also on the property are a number of outbuildings related to a dairy, including a corn crib/granary, hay barn, one large equipment shed and two additional storage sheds The property also has a guest house and a rustic gazebo.
