Specials include: Steak, Seafood, Subs, Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, Fish Tacos, Award Wining. By far my favorite thing on the menu! I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Not even a pandemic can keep us down- we're back open with masks and social distancing to serve you for dine-in, delivery, take-out or catering. Can a gluten free person get a good meal at this restaurant?
Definitely enough to take home! Thanks again, Good hostess, good waiter, good food and good time!! Also the homemade syrup was in point. Considerate, attentive and polite service made for a comfortable dinner. The food was cold, my pastrami sandwich didn’t come with the rye bread I asked for, and the wait after ordering was a bit long.
More of a family feel here. Our waitress kept apologizing for how long it was taking and then thanked us for our patience when she closed out our check. We flagged down the manager about the wine and he finally arrived with 3 wine glasses but no wine.
we asked if she could ask and she came back and said it was too late.
Fourth time eating at Tarrant's - and the most disappointing. We usually love Tarrant's but were disappointed w the inattentive service and disinterest in our experience. Portions were large and value was good. Our bill was $200 for 2 people, including tip for 4 drinks, apps and entres, of course, no dessert, as the "Kitchen closes at 9!!!" Alicia, Office Manager. Food was subpar.
Tarrant's Cafe also offers takeout which you can order by calling the restaurant at (804) 225-0035. Definitely glad we ended our meal with those two items!! Donate to Ted Santarella Fund for Prostate Cancer. I hope the owners and management read this and hopefully are unaware that they are turning down business. My sons chicken and waffles was first rate, my daughter in-law specifically asked if the meat loaf had green peppers in it. When we were done we wanted a dessert and was told that we probably couldn't get one as the "kitchen closes at 9!. The entire staff is friendly and wonderful atmosphere. I'm so glad to hear we're you're "go to" restaurant. I love the fried green tomatoes too! Like a old pharmacy that used to serve old school coke with sparkling water and coke syrup mix with a little something “extra.” The wood decor and old diner feel is comforting. Locally Owned.
Want boxed lunches or catering? Fortunately, The Hardshell came to our rescue and we had a lovely dinner there. In the Art's District centrally located among the many attractions like: VCU, the Convention Center, the Graduate, Quirk Hotel, Linden Row Inn, The National, The November Theater, the Historic Hippodrome and more! My shrimp and grits sauce was sweet, not spicy and not much andouille.
Also the homemade syrup was in point. We had 8pm reservations, and we were told it would be a few minutes before our table was ready,...so we ordered a drink at the bar, and watched as 2 very impressive desserts were being finalized there, one a strudel with ice cream and the other a brownie, looked great and we decided then we would get one.
Food was good, not great. as soon as we sat down at 8:20. Thanks again, Tarrant's Cafe does offer delivery in partnership with Toast.
I asked for a side of red sauce to put on the pizza and it arrived COLD. We'll be back, Great spot for lunch! I love our portions. As mentioned above everyone was very friendly and helpful. Wine finally opened and poured. We pride our self on good food and good service! So sad, because the food was good, actually very good. Nice people. Atmosphere - 4

All proceeds are donated to Massey Cancer Center RESERVATIONS. Thanks again, We chose Tarrant’s for the food and the fact that we were going to the theater afterwards. After a bit longer, our server arrived with the bottle and then could not open it and so had to leave again. We're known for seafood, steaks, pasta, pizza, subs, home made desserts, dressings and hospitality.
I am glad to hear your server was hospitable and food was enjoyable.
More of a family feel here. Thanks again, New "Walk-Up" Take-Out window on Foushee for easy, fast service. I would have told them about the food but we had a show to catch and had no time to waste dealing with them. We really enjoyed the veggie grilled cheese and especially the fried green tomatoes., Thanks for the amazing review! Thanks for the great review, Issac! They followed the rules for covid inside dining very well. Yes, actually they do. Learn more. Little things like ice cubes for a mixed drink we’re not as expected. Sounds like people became more comfortable not working than working. Parkway Parking in between Foushee and 1st Street.
