yamazaki 18 discontinued

Rose-hip tea. I could spend all day nosing this and will try it with a cigar tomorrow (Probably a Partagas D4).

For me a fragrant dancing masterpiece - the best 18yo ever - he is like a beautiful woman - wants one of all, attention, sweet floral oak, birch water, malt, roux, some glue - but goes more towards tree resin - furniture polish, milk with honey, cotton candy, fine wax, bright fresh sawn oak, sweetgrass magnolia, jasmine tea, vanilla, lychee, oranges, Braeburn apples , ripe fresh flambéed pineapple, yellow kiwi, gooseberries, delicately fruity tart, it tingles lightly, nutmeg and birch water, restrained sweet, very spicy, some nutmeg, slightly sour oak, very nice waxy notes, geranium leaves, cut flowers, jasmine tea - very valuable floral, subtle subtle fruitiness - canned pineapple on vanilla coconut cream, Wax, wax, wax, rosemary sharpness, pepper, mint - the sweet-sour fruitiness fades away first - the flower aromas are in the wax film along with delicious oak flavors very long on the tongue. It's a real shame Japanese whisky has gone the way it has - I've only had Hibiki 12 and Nikka WFTB but really enjoyed both and would like to try more of the single malts.

Yamazaki 18 Year Single Malt (Old Label and Box) 70cl / 43%, 18 Years, Japan, Yamazaki Distillery $ 809.41 $ 1,156.30 / 1000ml. The texture of the 18-year-old Yamazaki is pleasantly oily and gentle. Waves of vanilla, honey and malt pound first. Wonderful dark fruit notes, like cherries, plum, and black currents, with a bit of orange rind.
I tried the 12 last summer and was disappointed. Not sure if it's because it's the same family or that I just had the 12 year old. Leather.

Hints of smoke. But despite that, it doesn’t feel like an overly ‘engineered’ whisky, either. At least that is my opinion. So I decided to take a nip and bring the rest of it home with me. The sherry, dark chocolate, espresso, nutmeg, chili arrive at mid palate. A very long, semi-dry finish with a wonderfully gentle lingering spice.

Anyway, here are my notes: Nose: Earthy, with damp peat and deep oak. My socks stayed on. Seems like everything was chosen and prepared with the highest regard for quality.

Well whether it's due to a difference in mood or the whisky opening up in it's sample bottles, but this is a much better whisky then the one that I first tried.

Suntory Yamazaki 18 Jahre Single Malt Whisky (1 x 0.7 l): Amazon.de: Bier, Wein & Spirituosen It’s smooth, as seems to be the recurring factor with these malts, but has the stronger kick that you won’t get from sampling a younger age. Sounds like you had an amazing time with some amazing whisky!? Can you tell us your favorite? Finish: Woodiness (Oak), Distant smoke (but stronger than the 12 year old), spice and pepper going all the way. No other Japanese Single Malt reflects this philosophy better than Yamazaki 18.

Standard delivery 1 week Worldwide Delivery No minimum order. Re visiting this, my opinion has not changed, many people think this whisky is worth 400 euro, I do not think on quality alone its worth more than 100 euro.

It has been matured in a complex mixture of casks including ex-sherry, ex-bourbon and mizunara oak. It strikes me personally as a little to mellow for that experience, though it does have some lively spice.

Chervil, thyme, camphor and eucalyptus. Wonderful. Finish: Long, spicy, smooth, Show everythingShow all reviewsShow helpful positive reviewsShow helpful negative reviewsShow unanswered questions. There are not many Scotch that can hold the water. The nose is just fantastic!

This is simply magnificent! The other two were hibiki 21 and hakushu 18 which i will also be reviewing from notes. Gentle, silky smoke. and see if I can identify it.

Full body with lots of layers: raisins, oranges and sherry, which isn't too powerful. This is a remarkable whisky, my favorite so far. Tea,ginseng, toffee, dark sherry fruits, plum.

It’s complex, mature, and effortless. Join our Email newsletter to hear about our latest news, products and special offers.

Classic bourbon flavors are slowly finding their way out of my glass. I'll start saving for a plane ticket now then. I looked the label over to see if it was a Bourbon emulation. Its a great review, and if there was a whisky that would open your eyes to the wonders of Japanese malts, the Yamazaki expressions are the ones to do it. Last night I cracked the sample bottle for my wife and I to enjoy after her kickboxing class and our dinner. finish: the oakiness comes out a bit more, turning the sweetness to leather, espresso, and very dark chocolate. Now on my initial taste of the Yamazaki 18 year old, I wasn't very impressed. There's a slight salty-smokiness (think lapsang souchong). Unfortunately the price has just gotten ridiculous! Yamazaki 18. However with the spectacular taste and feel of this whisky, and the Japanese market in general, it’s clear to see why they are becoming some of the most sought-after malts around.
